|Description:||Provide project management support and guidance for Chronic Disease Research Group (CDRG) in all aspects of project management lifecycle from initiation to closing. Assists with preparation of project reports.|
|Duties:|| Serve as primary contact with sponsors in negotiating project parameters and sponsor expectations. |
Manages/motivates/coordinates and leads project team in supporting the contracts CDRG maintains with sponsors.
Manage financial budget and report revenue projections and financial status to management.
Works closely with the Director of Business Operations and Executive Director of Epidemiology and Biostatistics in helping to determine workload priorities related to meeting sponsor requirements and CDRG organizational goals.
Lead project meetings, informing the project team of milestone activity and project change.
Works with biostatisticians, epidemiologists, and physicians/investigators in the performance of research supporting contract deliverables.
Initiates projects by establishing project definition, objectives, scope, high-level budget and timeline.
Plans project through developing a work breakdown structure, defining and refining tasks, milestones, deliverables, resource assignments, and estimates, and developing contingency plans.
Executes project plan including scope management, project communications, time management, budget tracking, project resource management, issue management, and risk management.
Designs and writes reports summarizing project status information regarding work performed for sponsors.
Designs and maintains systems to track projects in terms of meeting milestones and deliverables.
Closes projects with regard to deliverable reconciliation, project quality reviews and post implementation reviews, and project archiving.
Assists in the implementation of processes in line with Project Management Best Practices and Standard.
Assists in the development of the Project Management Office to facilitate and support all CDRG projects.
Schedules communications between CDRG sponsors and internal stakeholders.
Records relevant project discussions.

Any combination of equivalent education and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills is qualifying. Typical qualifications would include Masters degree in public health, business, life sciences, or health services research. Experience in managing projects in any setting will be considered.
Skill, Knowledge & Ability (SKA):
Must have knowledge of and experience with all aspects of project management. Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and be flexible. Skills in computing related to project management desirable. Must have good problem solving skills and ability to work effectively in a small team environment. Must be a good listener and have strong, interpersonal communication skills and effective presentation skills. Familiarity with medical terminology and medical research preferred but not required. Requires interaction with a diverse population. Displays high standards of attendance and punctuality, maintains confidentiality, and manages time effectively.
