| Description: | Function as a team member in a cooperative, results oriented environment addressing mainframe, mid-size, mini, PC, workstation, distributed and client/server computer networked system. Specify general programming design concepts for initial development or revision of programs to optimize and improve performance. Prepare logic diagrams, data models and associated design documentation. Ensure a User focus in completing all tasks and assignments. Remain current in information technology development and contribute to the development of departmental standards, procedures and methodologies. |
| Qualifications: | Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills is qualifying. Typical qualifications would be a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with structured design/programming, object oriented design/programming, database concepts, and technical/business writing, and one (1) years of programming and analysis in a broad based environment and/or extensive user interface.
Requires interaction with a diverse population. Must have good oral and written skills including effective presentation skills. Must have good listening and problem solving skills. Must have knowledge of database technology, data communication networks, and project management and estimating techniques. Up-to-date knowledge in information technology is required. Must have detailed knowledge of structured system/software development methodologies, software and systems engineering disciplines, object oriented design and programming, client/server computing technology and computer hardware/peripherals. Must be flexible and able to meet deadlines. Must have the ability to work effectively in a small team programming environment, initiate frequent communications with supervisors, and work independently in detailed program coding, testing, debugging, and documentation. Must possess strong ethical principles. Displays high standards of attendance, punctuality, maintains confidentiality, and manages time effectively.
